ITINERARY
2 Day Itinerary
Day 1- We make our way to the city of Carlisle which is situated between Scotland and the Lake District, it was once a medieval market town but is now a vibrant and cultured city with an ever changing choice of things for you to see and do. We then continue onto our hotel for one night dinner bed and breakfast.
Day 2- The highlight of the weekend, the famous Carlisle to Settle railway journey. The train ride most definitely lives up to its reputation of being the most scenic in England. After the excitement of the railway journey we travel to the spa town of Harrogate for some free time before continuing our journey homewards.

Day 2- After breakfast we enjoy a drive through the lakes to experience its unique geography and with 3500 kilometres of rights of way and 12 of the largest lakes in England there’s plenty to see and with stops along the way in some of the most scenic places don’t forget your camera.
Day 3- The highlight of the weekend, the famous Carlisle to Settle railway journey. The train ride most definitely lives up to its reputation of being the most scenic in England. The Gretna Hall Hotel ***
Originally built in 1710 as a manor house, the Gretna Hall hotel boasts a great location, charm and character. Located just one mile across the Scottish border it is the ideal location for exploring Scotland, Carlisle and the English Lakes. There is a “Blacksmiths Shop” based on site, which offers guests and non residents a chance to experience and learn the history behind this 300 year old establishment. Other facilities include a lounge/ bar and a restaurant. All rooms are en suite with a TV and tea/ coffee making facilities.
