AUTUMN COLOURS AT WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM

Westonbirt is an historic Victorian landscape based in Gloucestershire, internationally known for its impressive collection of over 16,000 trees which come from Britain, China, North America, Japan and Chile, amongst other temperate climates. Every year during autumn thousands of visitors flock to enjoy the natural burst of colours that can be found in every corner of the 17 mile landscape before winter sets in and the leaves fall. Whether you are a garden lover or just admire the great outdoors this is a trip not to be missed!

    ITINERARY


    Day 1 – We drive to the rolling hills and honey-coloured stone villages of the Cotswolds. We make stops in Bourton-on-the Water, with its attractive low bridges, and in historic Stow-on-the-Wold with its remarkable market square, before continuing to our hotel.

    Day 2 - Today’s highlight is our visit to the National Arboretum at Westonbirt. One of the world’s most remarkable collections of trees, this 600-acre sanctuary is home to plants from all over the world. After a fascinating visit, we leave at approximately, 2.30pm for the journey home.

    We stay at the 4 star Menzies Swindon which offers a town centre location, newly refurbished bedrooms and a contemporary style. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff round off this hotel nicely.
