DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – After our departure we are taken to the regency spa town of Cheltenham before continuing to the hotel.
Day 2 – Take a step back in time today as we visit Lacock village, which dates back to the 13th Century. This Victorian village has been used as a location in the TV and film productions of “Pride & Prejudice”, “Downton Abbey” and “The Cranford Chronicles”. The historic Abbey was also featured in the recent Harry Potter films.
Day 3 – After a relaxing morning we visit Oxford. Apart from its prestigious history, the gleaming spires of their City have also starred in “Inspector Morse”, the Harry Potter films and “The Golden Compass” featuring Nicole Kidman.
Day 4 –After breakfast we take you to Highclere Castle, home to the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon but known by many as ‘Downton Abbey’, the fictional Edwardian country home of the world famous hit TV series. Our tour includes entry into the castle, gardens and exhibitions.
Day 5 – After breakfast we bid a fond farewell and make our journey home via Bampton, one of the oldest villages in the area and home of the fictitious Downton of “Downton Abbey” and “Hugh de Singleton’s” medical surgeon.
