DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to the Oban Hotel in Eastbourne, on arrival we enjoy tea, coffee and mince pies. Later today, there will be a ‘Guess the Cake’ competition and our festive dinner will be followed by live entertainment.
Day 2 – After breakfast we visit Beachy Head cliffs, the UK’s highest chalk sea cliff is a renowned beauty spot with incredible views located in the South Downs National Park and Seven Sisters Country Park. Whilst here, perhaps call into the Beachy Head Countryside Centre, home to an excellent gift shop. After a little free time, we will return to the hotel to enjoy a buffet lunch before travelling to Drusillas Park in east Sussex, for the Winter Wonderland Illuminations! As dusk falls the dazzling Light Show can begin as a magical wonderland scene comes to life as it dances to synchronised music. Later this evening you can visit All Saint’s Church for the Midnight mass taking place on our optional excursion.
Day 3 – Christmas Day begins with breakfast and a glass of buck’s fizz, afterwards why not take a brisk stroll along the seafront and towards the iconic bandstand where The Eastbourne Silver Band present their annual live Christmas concert. Back at the hotel the Queen’s Speech will be shown in the main lounge, and there will be a scrumptious Christmas Day buffet lunch served followed by dinner and entertainment later this afternoon.
Day 4 – Today we enjoy a day of history and exploration as we visit Hastings, home to the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe and the remains of the first castle in England to be built by William the Conqueror. Residing high atop a cliff overlooking the old town and North Sea, Hastings Castle is a huge part of England’s rich history. Later, this afternoon we travel to the attractive town of Battle for a little more time at leisure. This charming market town grew up around Battle Abbey, which was built by William the Conqueror after the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Day 5 – This morning we visit Brighton for a little bit of free time before we travel home. Brighton, England’s loveliest and liveliest city by the sea, is a fun and cosmopolitan seaside city home to Regency architecture, a traditional Pier and specialist shops to enjoy.
