Later today we visit Spiez, located on the lake Thun. We retrace our steps back to the hotel making a leisurely stop at Gstaad.
Day 5 – After breakfast we travel to the medieval village of Yvoire, located on the shores of Lake Geneva it is one of the most beautiful destinations in France. Inspired by the Middle Ages, this natural piece of heaven has been classified as a Remarkable Garden by the ministry of Culture and Communication. Exploring several intimate gardens; Garden of Tour, Garden of Smell, Alpine Meadow and Cloister of medicinal plants, the goal of this magnificent garden isn’t just to show you wonderful flowers, it’s to let you smell, touch, taste, admire and listen to the inspiring sights and sounds of nature.
Day 6 – This morning we visit Montreux. Most famous for its hilltop Old town, a fabulous 13th Century fortress and its British musical connections with Deep Purple, who recorded an album at the town’s casino in 1971 and later wrote ‘Smoke on the Water’ which commemorated a fire that broke out at the same casino. Later, we travel to nearby Vevey. The town’s lakeside location with breathtaking views of the Alpine panorama makes it one of the “Pearls of the Swiss Riviera”. It is also home to Nestle Headquarters; in 1875 Daniel Peter invented chocolate here and together with Henry Nestle established the Nestle cooperation.
