DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – After an early start we make our way to our overnight hotel in France.
Day 2 – This morning we continue our journey to Salsomaggiore Terme for our second overnight.
Day 3 – After breakfast we travel to Bologna, in northern Italy, for free time. The beautifully preserved, medieval centre is compact and very easy to explore on foot. Strat in Piazza Maggiore and wander inside the Basilica di San Petronio, the fifth largest church in the world). Then head to the ‘Two Towers’ at the Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, the city’s main landmark. After some free time, we will travel to Ancona for our evening sailing over to Split, Croatia.
Day 4 – Today we will arrive in Omis, where we spend a 5-night half board stay at the Hotel Villa Dvor. Home to one of the most dramatic locations of any town on the Dalmatian coast, its backed by sheer walls of mottled grey rock topped with craggy peaks.
Day 5 – Enjoy a visit to Split, Croatia’s second largest city. With ruins dating back to the Roman Empire, a bustling waterfront and fresh seafood served daily, Split remains one of Adriatic’s most vibrant port cities – stunningly located between mountains and the sea. In the centre of the Old Town of Split you’ll find the mighty Diocletian’s Palace, built in 305 AD for the Roman Empire Diolectian. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, over the centuries Split has grown around Diolectian’s Palace and many of the Palace’s buildings have remained intact!
Day 6 – After an early start, we travel to Dubrovnik. With a spectacular location, overlooking the calm blue waters of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is one of the world’s most captivating walled cities.
Day 7 – Relax and enjoy a day at leisure. Alternatively, join us on an optional excursion to Mostar*. The most famous landmark here is the Stari Most, a 16th century, Ottoman-style bridge. Stretching across the Neretva river, it connects the two sides of the city.
Day 8 – A great way to discover Omis today is on our optional river cruise and guided tour**.
Day 9 – This morning we visit the enchanting Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. This wonderful natural phenomenon consists of 16 interconnected lakes and over 90 dazzling waterfalls of different size. Our admission today, includes a motor boat ride and a panorama train journey. Afterwards, we travel to the Hotel Omorika in Crikvenica for a one-night stay. (DBB)
Day 10 – After breakfast we travel to San Bartolomeo, where we will spend two-nights at the Hotel Villa San Giuseppe (DBB). Enjoy a leisurely afternoon.
Day 11 – Following a relaxing morning, this afternoon we visit St Paul De Vence, one of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera. This exquisite village hovering between Nice and Cannes on the Provencal hills has a maze of inviting streets, gardens, ancient fountains and magnificent squares to explore.
Day 12 – We travel to our overnight hotel in France.
Day 13 – We return home.
