TWYCROSS ZOO

Twycross zoo is a great day out for the whole family.  Set in around 80 acres of land, it is home to around 900 animals.  Lots of exciting changes have been happening at the zoo recently including the new meerkat exhibit which is now twice as big as their previous home.  You can now get closer than ever before through brand new floor length glass viewing panels giving an amazing view of these fascinating animals.

STAUNTON HAROLD AND LUNCH AT THE NOTTINGHAM KNIGHT

To Staunton Harold followed by lunch at The Nottingham Knight in Ruddington

The grounds of the Hall are open to the public, with plenty of walk all around. There is an arts and crafts centre open Tuesday to Sunday 11.00am - 5.00pm (see www.ferrerscentre.co.uk), which includes lunch and tearooms and toilets. There is also a garden centre. We shall allow you time to look around.

The first crafts unit in the Georgian Stable block was established in 1974. There are now 16 businesses covering a wide range of disciplines and we are recognised as a true ‘making’ centre. All businesses are run independently. These range from Breadfirst Deli, Ferrers Gallery, Staunton Harold Tearoom, Code Leather Goods plus much more.

Then onto The Nottingham Knight in Ruddington for lunch which is included.

Saturday 4th August* it is carnival day. The event takes place on the Buttlands and includes stalls, entertainment, fancy dress competitions along with the famous Carnival Parade around the town
