DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – After an early start we make our way to our overnight hotel in France.
Day 2 – This morning we continue our journey to Callela and our second overnight hotel.
Day 3 – We begin our day in Barcelona, where you can enjoy some free time. With a history amongst the oldest in Europe, Barcelona is the passionate capital of Catalonia, an unforgettable city of art, that has a reputation of being the most cosmopolitan, modern and avant-garde city in Spain. Walk along the famous Ramblas, or perhaps hop onto the Tramvia Blau for a tram journey up to the top of Tibidabo and take in the magnificent sights of the city below you. Later, we board a cruise ship for our overnight sailing over to Porto Torres.
Day 4 – You’ll awake this morning in beautiful Porto Torres, in northern Sardinia. Re-boarding our coach, we will complete our journey and travel to our 4-star hotel in Palau. Located just a short walk from the beach, once you’ve settled in the rest of the day is yours.
Day 5 – After breakfast we will experience a fascinating full-day outing, cruising around the La Maddalena islands, a group of islands off the north-eastern tip of Sardinia surrounded by crystal clear waters, pink sands and a series of rocks and coves. They were originally designated as a national park due to their unique flora and fauna. Joined by a knowledgeable guide our first stop today is Santa Marina, where we enjoy a little free time. Then, we continue to the unique ‘Spiaggia rosa’, the pink beach of the archipelago. Spargi island and La Maddalena, the main town of the island is a small harbour town with endless charm. During our boat ride spaghetti will be served for everyone on board.
Day 6 – Today we take you to Costa Smeralda, a quintessence of turquoise‐blue sea, heavenly bays, crystal clear water and priceless luxury. The breathtaking drive along the world-famous Costa Smeralda will lead you past granite cliffs and white sandy beaches with a priceless view of the emerald-green sea. Exploring some of the most beautiful villages here, we’ll also be treated to a local wine tasting accompanied by typical, local delicacies. During our day we will enjoy leisurely stops in the beautiful villages of Porto Cervo, the main village of Costa Smeralda. Cala di Volpe and Porto Rotondo, these idyllic towns are perfect for strolling and exploring at your own pace.
Day 7 – Palau is a pristine paradise and today you are free to enjoy this utopia at your own leisure. Blanketed in emerald forest and surrounded by a deep blue ocean, after a relaxing morning on the beach perhaps head into Koror, here you will find many craft shops, a handful of local restaurants and some lively bars, which serve up an authentic slice of Palauan culture.
Day 8 – Joined by a local guide, this morning we will visit the city of Nuoro. Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea here you will find the island’s largest folklife museum. After some free time, we continue to Orgosolo, located high in the mountains surrounded by a fascinating natural landscape and dominated by wildlife, the scenery that you will discover here is rare, unexplored and characterised by a mixture of mountains, valleys and caves. We will end our day with a hearty meal with some local shepherds, before returning to our hotel.
Day 9 – After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy another day at leisure. Later, this afternoon we will travel to our ferry for our overnight sailing to Livorno.
Day 10 – We travel to the 4-star Adua & Regina di Saba Wellness and Beauty Hotel in Montecatini Terme. Here, we will enjoy a 2-night half board stay. Famous for its thermal waters, Montecatini Terme is one of the biggest spa towns in Italy and once you’ve checked in you are free to explore this town at your own leisure.
Day 11 – Our first destination today is Pisa, home to one of the world’s most famous landmarks, the renowned Leaning Tower. After a photo opportunity and some free time, we continue to the Roman City of Lucca. Surrounded by a medieval wall, you can wander safely through the traffic free alleyways and squares that inspired one of Italy’s greatest composers, Puccini
Day 12 – We travel to our overnight hotel in France.
Day 13 – After an enchanting escape, we retrace our footsteps home.
