Day 3 – After a leisurely breakfast enjoy free time to explore Kamp-Bornhofen, this friendly village offers traditional timber-framed buildings home to charming cafés, restaurants and shops. This afternoon we’ll have an early dinner, before travelling to Bonn to witness the electrifying Rhine in Flames. Due to the nature of this excursion we’d recommend bringing blankets and folding chairs, so you can relax whilst watching the firework displays.

Day 4 – This afternoon we visit Cochem, perhaps visit the Reichsburg Cochem, the Imperial Castle, which you can see towering above the scenic town. Originally built in the 12th Century, it had a long and prosperous history until French King Louis XIV destroyed it in 1689. It remained a colourful stone ruin until a wealthy businessman Loui Ravené decided to buy the castle and rebuild it in 1868.

Day 5 – Shortly after breakfast we take you to Rudesheim for free time. Rudesheim is a picturesque winemaking town (most famous for its production of Asbach Brandy that has been in production since 1892). Complete with narrow cobblestone alleys and timber-framed taverns, Drosselgasse is Rudesheim’s main street and a stroll along here almost feels like you’ve stepped back in time. This afternoon we visit Wiesbaden, lined with magnificent neoclassical buildings. Wiesbaden is one of Europe’s oldest spa towns, with hot springs still flowing today.

Day 6 – This morning we visit Bernskastel-Kues, this enchanting town boasts numerous sights from the castle ruins of Landshut that stand high above the city, to the Spitzhauschen Moselle’s oldest wine bar, dating back from 1416 or the historic marketplace. After a morning of exploration perhaps enjoy a cool glass of Bernkasteler Doctor, the most famous wine of the city.

Day 7 – We retrace our footsteps back home.
