During Your Stay
Day 1 – We travel to Cambridge located on the River Cam, famed for its historic University, buildings and the beautiful King’s College Chapel. Later we arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Colchester, as Britain’s oldest town Colchester’s colourful history is reflected by its award-winning museums, art galleries and beautiful buildings. After some free time, we return to the warmth of our hotel for a festive afternoon tea!
Day 3 – Enjoy Christmas day relaxing in the comfort of our hotel, surrounded by friends, old and new. After breakfast perhaps enjoy a leisurely stroll, take time to read or play cards and games before a traditional Christmas lunch is served. This afternoon a hot and cold buffet will be served for dinner.
Day 4 – Escape the crowds this Boxing Day, with a visit to Bury St. Edmunds for free time. Described as a “unique historical gem” this town is best known for its striking combination of medieval architecture, elegant Georgian squares and a glorious Cathedral. We return to the hotel for a 2-course lunch with wine and an evening buffet dinner.
Day 5 – On our journey back to the East Midlands we will enjoy leisurely stops in the picturesque villages of Lavenham – widely acknowledged as the best example of a medieval wool town in England – and once said to be the fourteenth wealthiest town in England. And Long Melford, this quintessential English village boasts two large Manor Houses, an impressive village Church and an electric main street bursting with independent shops, galleries, antique centres and tea rooms.
