Day 1 – We travel to Southampton for our ferry sailing over to East Cowes. Our coach will then take us to The Royal Pier Hotel in Sandown.
Day 2 – We’ll spend the morning in Ryde. As the largest town on the Isle of Wight, it has a great set of shopping streets, perfect for those last-minute stocking fillers or some retail therapy! We then visit Cowes, home to lots of pretty cafés, bars, shops and galleries.
Day 3 – Celebrate Christmas Day at leisure in The Royal Pier, one of Sandown’s finest hotels – today there will be a full board meal package included! Situated on the seafront, head out to the beach for a refreshing walk before kicking off the fun festivities. Or, with an indoor heated swimming pool and 2 bars at the hotel, enjoy a relaxing day (with no washing up).
Day 4 – Escape the crowds this Boxing Day, with visits to Godshill and Ventnor. One of the most photographed destinations on the Isle of Wight, Godshill is a pretty village with thatched-roofed cottages home to a range of shops selling local produce, such as ciders, pickles and biscuits. Later, we take you to Ventnor, perhaps visit the Winter Gardens, overlooking the seafront it is home to a variety of entertainment and bars.
Day 5 – After breakfast we visit Newport for free time. Considered to be the Island’s capital, here you can find high-street shops as well as local boutiques and craft shops.
Day 6 – Enjoy a day at leisure in Sandown. A short walk along the beach will take you to Dinosaur Isle, Britain’s first purpose-built Dinosaur museum or the Isle of Wight Zoo. Home to a large collection of big cats (Lions and Tigers), Lemurs and Wallabies.
Day 7 – After a leisurely morning in Sandown. This afternoon we visit Shanklin, one of the most charming places on the Isle of Wight. The Old Village is packed with thatched cottages home to unique gift shops and tea rooms.
Day 8 – Our first visit is to Freshwater Village. Its most famous landmark is Freshwater Bay, which is easily recognised by its chalk cliffs and the imposing “Stag” and “Mermaid” rocks. Afterwards, we take you to Yarmouth for free time. The town is filled with a range of cosy cafés, shops and galleries all overlooked by a stunning 17th Century church – one of the oldest on the island.
Day 9 – This morning we take you to East Cowes. The towns most famous visitor and resident was Queen Victoria who built her summer home, Osborne House, here. This afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel to prepare for this evening’s fantastic New Year’s Eve celebrations – dinner will be followed by an evening of entertainment and a raffle!
Day 10 – Enjoy a day at leisure. After a delicious breakfast, maybe venture down to the beach for Sandown’s annual New Year’s Day Swim (which starts at 12pm)!
