Excursion to Laxley, Ramsey, Castletown, Port Mary & Port Erin
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to the Rutland Hotel, on the Isle of Man for our ‘egg-cellent’ four-night, half-board stay.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Castletown, originally the capital of the Isle of Man. Where Castle Rushen one of the best‐preserved Medieval castles in Europe still dominates the town. After some free time, we travel to Port St. Mary, situated in the south‐east of the Island. Here, we find a pretty, sheltered beach and a small but busy yacht harbor, with fishing and sailing boats regularly coming and going. Later, we head to glorious Port Erin, which offers superb coastal scenery and fine walking routes.
Day 3 – Our first visit today is to Laxley situated on the East Coast. Here we will discover an insight into the Island’s mining heritage and view the world’s largest working waterwheel, Lady Isabella. Afterwards, we visit Ramsey, the second largest town on the Island. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule Hills, Ramsey boasts an impressive working harbour and one of the most impressive recreational spaces on the Isle of Man.
Day 4 – Explore Douglas in your own time. The beautiful promenade is lined with welcoming bars and restaurants and the high street is filled with a variety of shops giving you plenty to see and do.
Day 5 – After a ‘crackin’ stay’, we retrace our footsteps back home.
