DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey to the Isle of Wight.
Day 2 – Our first stop today is at the seaside resort of Shanklin, where over 70% of the area has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We then travel to Godshill village, which boasts some of the oldest architecture on the Island. Enjoy the delightful Medieval church, charming thatched-roof cottages and winding main-street lined with traditional tearooms. This afternoon we will enjoy free time in Ventnor, one of Britain’s most famous Victorian health resorts with its unique microclimate.
Day 3 – After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy free time in Sandown. Sitting on the southern coast of the Isle of Wight, Sandown is acclaimed for its long stretches of sandy beaches and a traditional British seafront and pier.
Day 4 – This morning we travel to The Needles where you can admire The Needles Rocks and Trinity Lighthouse - the islands most famous landmark. After a photo opportunity, we continue to Yarmouth, the historic port with some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight. In the afternoon we visit the National Trust’s Mottistone Manor Garden, a magical place full of surprises, including shrub-filled banks, hidden pathways and colourful herbaceous borders.
Day 5 – We visit Queen Victoria’s Osborne House seaside palace where she often visited with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. Take an intimate glimpse into Queen Victoria’s family life as you tour the nursery and private rooms of the Royal couple. Marvel at the magnificence of the Royal Apartments including the drawing and dining rooms and step out onto Queen Victoria’s private beach (a pleasant 20-minute stroll from the Palace). This afternoon we visit Cowes, where you can enjoy a stroll along the seafront.
Day 6 – This morning we visit Ryde, the largest town on the Isle of Wight for free time. Later, we travel to Newport where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Located in the centre of the island, this historic town centres on two elegant squares with Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them.
Day 7 – We retrace our footsteps home.
