DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Before arriving at the hotel we will enjoy free time in Harrogate, one of Yorkshire’s most elegant destinations. Maybe visit the Royal Pump Room Museum; built by Isaac Shutt in 1842 it’s home to a fascinating museum where you can find artifacts from bygone Harrogate. After free time, we continue to our hotel.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Newcastle, one of the most iconic cities in Britain for some free time. Afterwards, we travel to the intriguing town of Hexham. This historic market town is clustered around the Abbey and is home to independent shops, cosy cafés and roaring fires housed inside traditional pubs all aglow with the twinkling lights of Christmas.
Day 3 – Shortly after breakfast we visit Durham for a little free time. Home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, the majestic Durham Cathedral where we have arranged a guided tour. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe.
Day 4 – On our way home, we will enjoy a short photo stop at Antony Gromley’s Angel of the North, England’s most famous piece of public art. Taller than four double decker buses and with a wingspan as big as a jumbo jet it is believed to be the largest angel sculpture in the world. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the East Midlands.
