DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Our first stop today is in Cambridge. Perhaps take this opportunity to enjoy a leisurely break in a charming café or check out some of the boutique shops the city has to offer. After some free time, we travel to our hotel.
Day 2 – We visit Canterbury for a relaxing cruise along the peaceful River Stour which flows through the heart of the historic cathedral city. This is the perfect way to escape the crowds and enjoy some of Canterbury’s most stunning and important architectural highlights! Afterwards, enjoy free time before we return to our hotel.
Day 3 – After a leisurely morning, we take you to Herne Bay for free time. With two miles of coastlines, colourful beach huts, seafront gardens and a bustling pier, Herne Bay is the epitome of the traditional British seaside resort. We also stop off in Faversham, the oldest market town in Kent and recorded in the Domesday Book, it is bursting with history.
Day 4 – Today we visit Chatham Historic Dockyards, where our very own ‘midwife’ will greet us on the WWII destroyer HMS CAVALIER to begin our “Call the Midwife Tour.”
The midwife will take you on a guided tour of the various film locations used in the hit BBC Drama. Discover authentic cobbled streets and fine Georgian and Victorian architecture that have provided the backdrop for an array of period films since the 1980s, so presenting an ideal opportunity to follow the special film trail.
Day 5 – We return to the East Midlands.
