DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – On the way to Weymouth we visit Winchester, the unspoilt cathedral and former capital under King Alfred the Great. Walk the bustling streets and admire the 11th century cathedral and Great Hall, which housed the mysterious King Arthur’s Round Table, for 700 years.
Day 2 – This morning we head for Poole to take a fascinating Jurassic Coast cruise for a journey through 185 million years of history with live commentary pointing out the likes of Old Harry Rock's said to be named after a notorious pirate, Harry Paye. A cream team is served on board.
Day 3 – Weymouth’s safe sandy beaches, rich heritage and coastline make it a favourite holiday destination. Today, you are free to explore the town in your own time. Take in the sights at one of Weymouth’s Royal Society for the Protection of Birds reserves and get up close and personal with local wildlife or visit Sandworld, showcasing some of the best sand sculptures from around the world.
Day 4 – Today, we visit Bridport and the quaint harbour resort of West Bay, familiar as the setting for TV's 'Broadchurch' and known as “The Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast” From here we continue to the historic coastal resort of Lyme Regis, boasting breathtaking scenery and its famous Cobb harbour (Please be aware that access to the town and promenade from the coach park is via a steep incline and may prove challenging for anyone with reduced mobility).
Day 5 – We retrace our footsteps home making comfort breaks along the way.
