After our incredible train journey, we then enjoy a boat ride on Königswinter to Linz am Rhein – situated on the banks of the River Rhein, this enchanting medieval town offer a lively old town with architectural treasures.
Day 3 – After an eventful couple of days, spend today in the comfort of the hotel. After breakfast perhaps wander out into the historic streets of Remagen; most famous for the Bridge of Remagen – the bridge across the Rhine was destroyed in World War II, it has never been re-built but instead remains as a memorial, towering over the Roman city. Later, return to the hotel where a traditional Easter lunch will be served.
Day 4 – Visit the impressive German city of Cologne; regularly voted as the country’s most popular tourist attraction the town is dominated by its famous cathedral whose twin spires eclipse the skyline. Right next to the cathedral is the historic centre with its old, colourful houses from here you can explore the modern art gallery, the chocolate museum or if you’d rather enjoy a spot of shopping head to Hohe Straße, Schildergasse, Mittelstraße and Ehrenstraße.
Day 5 – After breakfast we begin our return journey home.
