BO'NESS &

KINNEIL RAILWAY (HALF DAY): We travel to the historic port of Bo'ness on the Firth of Forth for a journey on the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway for a 10-mile scenic journey to Manuel, along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct (NB. This will be operated by either a steam or heritage diesel engine).

KYLE OF LOCHALSH

LINE & LOCH NESS (FULL DAY): We head north with a stop for a photo opportunity at Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most striking castles in Scotland, perched atop a tiny island and joined to the mainland by a small, elegant bridge, it was designed to defend the region from invading Vikings. Next, we follow in the footsteps of Michael Palin as we embark on The Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which is featured in the celebrity's 'Great Railways of the World' TV series. This primarily single-track railway travels via breathtaking scenery from Kyle of Lochalsh to Dingwall (NB. This is a diesel service). Our return by coach to the hotel takes us along the shores of Loch Ness - keep your eyes peeled for the mythical local resident!

JACOBITE STEAM

RAILWAY & MALLAIG (FULL DAY): Described as the 'Greatest Railway Journey in the World' today we board the Jacobite Steam Railway to Mallaig. This section of the West Highland Line crosses the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, which was used in the Harry Potter films. Our journey takes us to Mallaig, this busy fishing port is home to many shops, bars, restaurants and plenty of fish and chips shops!

STRATHSPEY STEAM

RAILWAY (FULL DAY): Our journey today takes us towards the magnificent backdrop of the Cairngorm mountains to Aviemore. Here we board the Strathspey Steam Railway for a 20-mile trip along part of the original and historic Highland Railway line, winding along the river Spey through moorlands and wooded glens, via the Boat of Garten and onto Broomhill.
