ISLE OF MAN RAILWAY
& CREGNEASH FOLK MUSEUM (FULL DAY) - Enjoy a journey on the Isle of Man Steam Railway (from Douglas to Port Erin), the longest gauge steam line in Britain that still uses its original locomotives and carriages. Our next stop is the nearby Railway Museum, where you can view steam engines and even the royal carriages whilst learning the history of this fascinating railway network. Later, we visit the National Folk Museum in Cregneash - a living, working illustration of 19th and 20th Century Manx life, where visitors can see traditional farming methods and skills in action.
DOUGLAS
(FREE DAY) - Situated on the east coast of the Isle of Man, Douglas is home to a beautiful seafront lined with picturesque restaurants and locally owned stores. Take a chance to ride aboard one of the famous horse-drawn trains along the promenade or visit the Manx Museum, bursting with local artefacts and treasures unique to the island's thousand-year history.
CURRAGHS WILDLIFE
PARK, RAMSEY & LAXEY (FULL DAY) - Set in forty acres of beautiful natural scenery, Curraghs Wildlife Park is home to 350 different types of animals, including large cats, birds of prey, and primates. Later, we travel the short distance to Ramsey, a harbour town set against the backdrop of the North Barrule hills, and Laxey, a picturesque village best known for The Lady Isabella, the largest waterwheel in the world also known as The Great Laxey Wheel, where you'll have a photo stop opportunity at the famous landmark (admission not included).
Built in 1910, The Hydro is a well-established hotel on the Isle of Man, situated on the historic Queens Promenade overlooking Douglas Bay. There's a rustic restaurant with exposed timber beams, in addition to a cosy bar.
