HOLY ISLE &
BAMBURGH CASTLE (FULL DAY): Lying just off the Northumberland coast, the Holy Island (as seen on Robson Green's Tales from Northumberland) is a picturesque and unspoilt Pilgrimage destination cut off twice a day from the rest of the world by the tide. We also visit the nearby Bamburgh Castle, standing guard above the spectacular Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, it has been home to a succession of kings from Henry VI to James I and is one of the largest inhabited castles in the country.
DURHAM
(HALF DAY): Durham is home to one of the most recognizable landmarks in the UK, majestic Durham Cathedral. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe.
WASHINGTON OLD HALL
(HALF DAY): National Trust's Washington Old Hall, a manor house associated with the family of George Washington, first President of the United States of America.
The Holiday Inn Washington is renowned for its friendly staff and warm northern welcome. With an established restaurant and a contemporary lounge and bar area, this hotel is ideal for our Easter break.
