YORKSHIRE COAST
(FULL DAY): We travel via the North Yorkshire Moors market town of Guisborough for a visit to the seaside town of Redcar, home to a vertical pier! Boasting picturesque beaches as well as an array of museums, galleries and monuments showcasing the town's rich history and heritage. Later, we continue via Saltburn - home to the first traditional pier to be built on the North East coast and the last one remaining - to the quaint picture-postcard fishing village of Staithes. Clinging to the hillside, Staithes was once one of the largest fishing ports in the North East, now this hillside gem is a treasured base for exploring Yorkshire's cliff top paths and discovering the delights of rock pooling and fossil hunting on the small sandy beach.
WHITBY
(FULL DAY): Enjoy free time in Whitby, one of the England's best-loved seaside towns! Famous for its literary connections with Bram Stoker and rumoured to be where he got his inspiration for Dracula - you might choose to climb the 199 steps from the old town to the churchyard of St Mary's or perhaps visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, located in the 17th century harbourside house where he served his apprenticeship.
YORKSHIRE MOORS
(FULL DAY): Today we explore the North Yorkshire Moors, including the pretty villages of Thornton-Le Dale and Hutton-Le-Hole, considered one of the most picturesque villages in the national park. We visit Goathland, whose railway station was immortalised as Hogsmeade Station in the early Harry Potter films and was also the fictional Aidensfield in the television series "Heartbeat" - look out for the North Yorkshire Steam Railway trains which regularly run through the station.
This hotel is located above the North Bay and within walking distance of the old town and harbour.
