WELSHPOOL AND POWIS

CASTLE & GARDENS (FULL DAY) - Welshpool is a picturesque and quintessentially Welsh market town situated in the Severn Valley. The town's streets are lined with fine Georgian buildings, quaint shops and many eateries but its main attraction is the 13th Century Powis Castle. This medieval fortress sits high on a rock above its world-famous garden, considered to be one of the finest historic gardens in Wales. Laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles, the garden is overhung with clipped yews and shelters rare and tender plants. It retains original lead statues and features an orangery on the terraces.

Please note: There are some steep steps throughout the castle and grounds.

LLANDRINDOD WELLS

(FREE DAY) - Llandrindod Wells, or 'landod' as the locals affectionately know it, is a popular Victorian spa town located in central Wales. Take your time today to explore the town's Victorian splendour and leafy walks - Rock Park, one of the earliest public parks in Wales - contains what was the best known spa in Wales, the Grade II listed Rock Spa Pump Room and Pavilion.

ABERYSTWYTH

& THE VALE OF RHEIDOL STEAM RAILWAY (FULL DAY) - A scenic drive this morning takes us through the enchanting Wye Valley, through the mountains to the Ceredigion Heritage Coast, and the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth. The seafront boasts the oldest pier in Wales, built in 1864 and offers the second best vantage point of Aberystwyth. Later, we have arranged a journey on one of the little trains of Wales, the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway. This unforgettable journey to travels up through some of Wales' most spectacular scenery on a historic narrow-gauge steam railway.
