SHANKLIN, VENTNOR &
GODSHILL (FULL DAY) - Enjoy visits to the popular seaside resorts of Shanklin and Ventnor, a famous Victorian health resort with its unique microclimate. After lunch, we continue onto Godshill village, which boasts some of the oldest architecture around and a famous model village. Our final stop today is the Donkey Sanctuary, where you can get up close and personal with the animals before enjoying a delicious, included cream tea.
SANDOWN
(FREE DAY) - Sitting on the southern coast of the Isle of Wight and sheltered in a beautiful bay, Sandown is famed for long stretches of golden sandy beaches, a traditional British seafront, and a pier. During your free day, you can explore as much (or as little) as you like; why not visit the Zoo found in an old fort, or the interactive Dinosaur Isle Museum (not included, booking is recommended)?
THE NEEDLES,
YARMOUTH & MOTTISTONE MANOR GARDENS (FULL DAY) - We travel to The Needles, one of the island's most famous and photographed landmarks. After a photo opportunity, we continue to Yarmouth, a historic port and one of the gateways to the area. You'll find a 16th Century castle, country park and grade II listed pier nearby. We also visit the National Trust's Mottistone Manor Garden. Set in a sheltered valley, immerse yourself in peaceful and magical gardens with colourful borders, shrub-filled banks and grassy terraces surrounding an Elizabethan manor house.
OSBORNE HOUSE
& COWES (FULL DAY) - Today we travel to Queen Victoria's Osborne House - a seaside palace, where she often visited with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. Take an intimate glimpse into Victorian family life as you tour the nursery and private rooms of the Royal couple. Next, marvel at the magnificence of the Royal Apartments, including the drawing and dining rooms, and step out onto Queen Victoria's private beach (a pleasant 20-minute stroll from the palace). The day also includes visiting nearby Cowes, an exciting port town split in half by the River Medina.
ISLE OF WIGHT STEAM
RAILWAY (HALF DAY) - Step back to a bygone era when steam was the order of the day as you settle into the beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages, passing through the island's unspoilt countryside and ancient woodlands.
Opposite Sandowns golden beach, this modern hotel is a 5-minute walk from Sandown Pier and features a traditional restaurant and a leisure centre with sea views. The bright guest rooms include a flat-screen TV, a work desk and tea/coffee-making facilities.
