Day 1
Once on board our coach, we travel to our overnight hotel, with comfort stops along the way.
Day 2
We continue our journey after breakfast with a visit to Fort William. Basking on Loch Linnhe’s shores and surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery, Fort William has one of the most desirable settings in Scotland. After a chance to explore, we continue north past Eilean Donan Castle, the second most photographed castle in Scotland, and over to the Isle of Skye. Tonight, you’ll enjoy a stay at the traditional King’s Arms Hotel for one night.
Day 3
Enjoy a magnificent drive across Skye to board our ferry to North Uist. This afternoon we take you on a scenic coastal drive of the Uists, passing lochs and golden beaches, before checking into the Dark Island Hotel in Benbecula for the night.
Day 4
We sail over to Lewis and Harris, the largest of the Hebridean Islands. This rugged landscape of deep-sea lochs and rugged mountains retains a proud history dating back to prehistoric times. Our day includes a tasting at a Harris gin distillery. Tonight, you’ll be welcomed at the Caladh Hotel, Stornaway for a two-night stay.
Day 5
After breakfast, an experienced local island guide will meet us to tour the magnificent Lewis and Harris. On our journey, take in the impressive standing stones of Callanish and the imposing Carloway Broch, a fortified tower dating back to the Iron Age. Our final stop includes admission into the Gearrannan Blackhouses Museum; built from stonework and thatch, these historic homes were inhabited until the 1970s, with the traditional way of life being preserved ever since.
Day 6
This morning, we catch the ferry across to Ullapool and travel to Inverness, the ‘Capital of the Highlands’. After some free time, we enjoy a leisurely drive south through the picturesque Spey Valley until we reach our overnight hotel.
Day 7
After a fantastic trip filled with incredible sights, we travel home.
Close to the Skye Bridge in Kyleakin village, the Kings Arms dates back to the 1600s and has panoramic views across Kyle of Lochalsh to the mainland. The hotel is one of the oldest on the Isle of Skye and has retained many traditional features and gained modern, homely comforts.
