Engineer Manager

Head Office on-site, Bulwell, Nottingham

With immediate requirement, as we expand our structure and fleet, we are looking for an Engineer Manager to work in partnership with our Senior Engineer Manager to lead our Engineer Team of 23 Employees with a high-quality coach operator.

About the Role

We are looking for a full time Engineer Manager to work in a very hands on position and lead and empower a team around them to achieve objectives to tight deadlines.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles to the highest of standards required by our Operator Licence and key clients such as National Express
  • Analyse, monitor and manage quality and performance workshop indicators (KPI)
  • Willing to be always contactable in the event of emergencies
  • Lead a team of engineers with concise clear and realistic objectives
  • Lead with drive and passion to investigate situations and empower our business
  • Rota planning of the department to accommodate holidays
  • Can provide up to date VOR Lists for all departments and lease with operations to plan and priorities repairs

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in the Bus and Coach sector, however we will consider a military HGV and automotive background
  • Minimum qualifications equivalent to City and Guilds Level 3 Motor Vehicles or similar
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with short and long-term planning
  • Quality focus with drive to work in a team and individually
  • Desire to work in an exciting process driven team to lead improvement with rapid change
  • Can build strong client relationships with external companies
  • Reporting experience with basic IT Skills to provide management reports including the control and financial costs
  • Strong engineering background with over 2 years managing a commercial workshop
  • General experience in knowledge of modern vehicle electronics
  • An open-minded quality approach with a business vision
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain your working knowledge of VOSA Compliance
  • Ability to handle conflict with resolution
  • Over 1-year hands on PCV technical experience
  • Ability to retain and process large amounts of technical information
  • Current FULL Driving Licence held
  • Ability to use initiative with time management deadlines
  • High organisational skills are required to ensure vehicle inspections are carried out to deadlines with all repairs cleared for safety on the road and all paperwork complaint signed and dated

 

Desirable

  • PCV Driving Licence

 

Salary and benefits

  • £30,000 to £40,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 0600-1500/0800-1700 with 30 minute break. Total of 40 hours p/w with a shift rota of on call at weekends to work around your management structure.

  • Pay included whilst in training

  • Hold a full PCV Licence
  • Have a valid DQC Card
  • Have strong communication and customer service skills
  • Be clean, smart and polite

Salary and benefits

  • £8.50ph for contract and private Hire driving, hours dependant on route
  • £9.60ph on National Express contract, 48-60 hours p/w

PSV TECHNICIANS / VEHICLE INSPECTORS

We are looking for Highly skilled, experienced PSV technicians to join our friendly engineering team at our purpose-built engineering facility.

We are looking for a full time PSV Technician and Vehicle inspector with main duties of:

  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT preparations to a high standard
  • Routine servicing and maintenance repairs being able to diagnose and resolve an issue
  • Fault finding and defect clearing using the latest diagnostics equipment
  • Completion of all required paperwork to a high standard

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Good housekeeping routines to meet health and safety standards
  • Recognised qualifications (City and Guilds NVQ or equivalent) if not proven industry experience
  • Team player but able to work on own initiative with experience of working on a wide variety of makes of coaches
  • A full driving licences

 

Desirable

  • A PCV License

  • Starting on £12ph with opportunity for more dependent on experience on 40hours a week on a rota shift basis
