DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Following pick-ups we travel to our hotel in Pitlochry with regular comfort breaks.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Scone Palace. As one of Scotland’s most important stately home, Scone Palace has an exciting and colourful history that you won’t want to miss! Throughout its lifetime it has been the seat of parliament and the crowing place of the Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce. This afternoon we travel to the historic Balhousie Castle, home to the Black Watch Museum – which tells the story of the iconic Black Watch Regiment, Scotland’s Premier Highland Regiment.
Day 3 – Day at leisure in resort or take a local bus to Queens View overlooking Loch Tummel, one of the most photographed areas in Scotland, Queen Victoria is said to have remarked that the spectacular view was named after her, when she visited the area in 1866. However, it has also been suggested that the view was in fact named after King Robert the Bruce’s wife, Queen Isabella of Scotland, over 550 years earlier.
Day 4 – After breakfast we take you to Glamis Castle; the beloved childhood home of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and the birthplace of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret. This stunning Scottish treasure looks more than a French château, but has witnessed over 600 years of history.
Day 5 – After breakfast we wave goodbye to our hosts and retrace our footsteps home.
