In line with the latest Governments ‘Roadmap’ out of lockdown we’re happy to confirm that:

  • Day Excursions

    will be commence operating from Monday 12th April 2021

  • Overnight Holidays will be restarting from Monday 17th May 2021

 

  • Our Travel Shops will be re-opening on Monday 12th April 2021

The current situation as of 23/02/2021

 

In view of the latest developments regarding the coronavirus pandemic and following Government advice we have taken the difficult decision to cancel ALL our operating Day Excursions up until Monday 12th April 2021 and ALL our Holidays up until Monday 17th May 2021. We shall continue to review things weekly and we are always adding new excursions to our Holiday Programme.

 

Our branches are planning to re-open on Monday 12th April 2021.
However, a skeleton team are currently working at our Head Office and are available to take your calls, queries, and bookings.

 

If you have a booking during these dates, please DO NOT try to contact us. We are working to a plan, contacting passengers in date order and we are working to reschedule as many affected holidays and day excursions as we can to either later in the year, or in 2022. Rest assured we will be getting in touch with you as soon as we can.

The current situation as of 17/12/2020

 

Following the government’s latest announcement today, we are sorry to have to confirm that we have no alternative other than to cancel ALL holidays and day excursions which were due to depart during the period 19th to 31st December 2020, due to the fact that our area remains in tier 3 of Covid restrictions.

 

Please rest assured that decisions which affect our valued customers are not taken lightly and we understand that you will feel extremely disappointed with this news, but I am sure you will appreciate the matter is completely out of our control and your safety is of paramount importance to us.

Whilst Skills Holidays is currently closed, we anticipate our offices will reopen on MONDAY 4TH JANUARY 2021, providing there are no further developments preventing this.

 

If you do not wish to rebook at this stage, in accordance with ABTA recommendations, after 31st December we will be issuing all our customers affected by a cancelled tour with a credit note, which will be financially protected. The credit note is redeemable against any alternative Skills Group holiday regardless of departure date, or eligible for a cash refund after 31st March 2021.

Coronavirus Update:

The current situation as of 16/12/2020

 

In view of the latest developments regarding the coronavirus pandemic and government advice, Skills Holidays is currently working with reduced staffing and we have not reopened our high street shops yet after the November lockdown. We hope this changes the beginning of January 2021.

 

All tours due to depart prior to the 19th December have been cancelled, this is being reviewed weekly. Credit notes and refunds will be dealt with in date order and we thank you for your understanding and patience. If you have already e-mailed or provided your detail’s please do not contact us again as we are dealing with a large number of duplicates and this is prolonging the process for those still waiting. We appreciate that everybody’s situation in these challenging times is different, and many of you may still not be able to travel with us yet. That’s why if you’ve had a Skills holiday or day trip affected by COVID-19 you can now re-book onto any of our holidays, using the value of your credit note, until 31st December 2021. So, there’s no need to rush, and we look forward to welcoming you back when you are ready.

Coronavirus Update:

We're Good to Go

The current situation as of 13/10/2020

From tomorrow, Wednesday 14th October, the government has announced a new three tier approach -

 

Tier 1 Medium Risk

Tier 2 High Risk

Tier 3 Very High Risk

 

The area of Nottingham will enter the High local COVID alert level, or Tier 2.

 

For our customers who live in Nottingham who are booked on trips departing within the next 4 weeks, if you are travelling with someone who doesn’t live within the same household, we shall contact you to aim to source single rooms and to sit you according to Covid guidance on the coach. Please be aware that we will be contacting customers in departure date order and we would kindly ask you to bear with us while we work through the bookings.

 

Residents in Tier 1 or Tier 2 areas ARE still allowed to travel to other Tier 1 or Tier 2 destinations.

 

Following the announcement yesterday Liverpool City will be placed on the ‘Very High’ (Tier 3) Covid alert level from tomorrow, Wednesday 14th October. Therefore, we see no possibility of running coach trips to, from or within a ‘Very High’ risk designated area and it is advised that whilst travel through areas in permitted, journeys should not involve any stops. If you were booked on to a tour which has now been affected, we will contact you. Please DO NOT try and contact us by phone as we are working to a plan in order to get to everyone in turn.

"WE'RE ON THE ROAD AGAIN!"

The current situation as of 28/07/2020

 

We are really pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Visit Britain’s ‘Good to Go’ Status. “We’re Good To Go” is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

 

We’ve put a lot of hard work into our risk assessments, safe operating procedures and coach capacity guidelines, and we are proud of the new measures we have in place, so it is great that this has been recognised and we are excited about welcoming you back on board our coaches. In line with the latest Government guidelines we are now able to start our phased reopening and as a result, our travel shops in:

 

  • Nottingham

  • Beeston

  • Derby

 

are all now OPEN! Monday – Friday between 10am – 3pm. Our Nottingham travel shop is also open every Saturday between 10am – 12pm only. To make a booking preferably we’d suggest calling us on: 08456 66 55 44* or 0115 977 0080 or booking on our website. However, should you wish to visit us in store there are additional safety measures and social distancing in place at our travel shops, and we kindly as that you please pay close attention to the safety notices on display.

 

If you are unable to travel and wish to cancel please send your cancellation to enquiries@skills.co.uk. Those unable to travel due to shielding from COVID-19 will be honoured with a holiday voucher to the sum of monies paid upon the receipt of a doctors note.

 

CREDIT NOTES – EXTENDED UNTIL 2021

We appreciate that everybody’s situation in these challenging times is different, and many of you may still not be able to travel with us yet. That’s why if you’ve had a Skills holiday or day trip affected by COVID-19 you can now re-book onto any of our holidays, using the value of your credit note, until 31st December 2021. So, there’s no need to rush, and we look forward to welcoming you back when you are ready.

 

Dependant on the date issued on your credit note letter you are eligible for reimbursement of your cancelled departure AFTER July 31st, please contact 08456 66 55 44* or 0115 977 0080 or visit one of our retail travel shops. You will require your booking ‘T’ reference together with your 16-digit credit note reference number for this purpose. Please be patient and kind to our staff as we are working as hard as we can to get through all enquiries as soon as possible.

 

HOLIDAYS – WE’RE GOOD TO GO

We are delighted to announce that our holiday programme will be re-starting from Monday 20th July – with our first departure scheduled for the Isle of Wight. We are operating on skeleton staff but our commercial product team are working day and night to check each hotel’s risk assessment and also those of the attractions included, to ensure that their procedures, as well as ours, provide for complete safety for our passengers and staff, as well as making sure that the holiday is fully enjoyable.

 

We will continue to review events and attractions throughout the year that may still be cancelled due to COVID-19 and those passengers who are affected will be contacted accordingly. We appreciate you may hear in the news about events, further into the year, being cancelled however we will be working in date order, in order to reach all our customers, so your continued patience is still appreciated.

Our Day Trip programme will be operating from August and we have just released our CoachStyle version 3 holiday programme, from summer this year right through from autumn and Christmas this year, through to spring next year! We will also be releasing our 2021 Preview Brochure in the upcoming weeks, which you will be able to view and download for free on our website.
