Solo doesnt mean alone - especially with Skills Holidays' new range of Solo Holidays for 2026. Whether you travel independently by choice or circumstance, our carefully designed solo holidays offer the freedom to enjoy your own space, with the welcoming option to socialise. This isnt a matchmaking service - its a celebration of independent travel and shared experiences. Youll have sole use of your own room (in most cases, a double room) and be greeted with a welcome drink on the first night, the perfect chance to meet like-minded fellow travellers. From swapping stories to forming friendships that go beyond the journey, our Solo Holidays let you explore your way, while enjoying the warmth of great company (trips are limited to thirty participants to ensure a relaxed and personalised experience).
Day 1
We start our journey with a visit enroute to Harrogate, one of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations! Enjoy some free time in this characterful town full of exciting attractions, including magnificent garden walks and panoramic views. You may also enjoy exploring Harrogate's many boutique shops and quaint tearooms. This afternoon, we continue to Whitby to check into our cliff-top hotel, which features a theme of festive fun and fare running throughout our stay.
DDay 2
Today, we enjoy a scenic drive exploring the winter wonderland of the North York Moors, travelling through the villages of Danby and Rosedale Abbey to the bustling and vibrant market town of Pickering, where the tea rooms and shops offer a gloriously vintage experience.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast, we include a full-day excursion to York, home to the awe-inspiring York Minster, one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world! Winner of the most picturesque street in Britain, The Shambles is an ideal place to start the day and is ideally placed to lead you to the many boutiques, gift shops, and high-street favourites that lie in the streets beyond.
B, DDay 4
This morning, we visit Scarborough, Yorkshire's original seaside resort, home to stunning scenery, glorious beaches and lots to see and do. Why not immerse yourself in the town's history at Scarborough Castle or venture down to the seafront to enjoy the traditional amusements, cafés, and ice cream parlours? We return to Whitby for some free time to explore the ancient fishing port, with its pretty harbour, narrow cobbled streets, Abbey ruins and quaint little houses and shops.
B, DDay 5
We begin our homeward journey after breakfast via a stop in the county town of Beverley, with its cobbled streets and quaint boutiques all decked in Christmas goodies and decorations, renowned for its exquisite thirteenth-century Minster, before continuing to arrive back early in the evening.
BB=Breakfast, D=Dinner
From a stunning clifftop location, enjoy amazing views on all sides of the beaches, harbour, old town, abbey ruins, and headland. With Yorkshire-style hospitality, all rooms come with ensuite bathrooms.
