Visits to Darlington, Bamburgh, Holy Island*, Alnwick, Warkworth & York

Day 1 – Our first stop is Darlington; this contemporary market town has a pedestrianised town centre that is great for shopaholics! After some free time, we travel to our hotel.

Day 2 – This morning we visit Bamburgh; this beautiful coastal town is set in the heart of Northumberland and is most famous for its striking castle and Northumberland’s finest sausage ‘The Bamburgh Banger’! This afternoon, we have arranged a trip over to the Holy Island*. Lying just off the Northumberland Coast, Holy Island, as seen on Robson Green’s Tales from Northumberland, is a picturesque, unspoilt village that is cut off twice-daily from the rest of the world by fast-moving tides.

Day 3 – Enjoy a free day in our resort of Middlesbrough. The vibrant town centre is packed with independent retailers, cafés, micro-pubs and award-winning restaurants!

Day 4 –
Today we visit Alnwick & Warkworth for free time. You could mistake Alnwick for being a stolen scene from a postcard, with its colourful cottages and its glistening, golden beach. Warkworth is another beautiful village that is surrounded by the River Coquet and dominated by the stunning Warkworth Castle.

Day 5 – After breakfast we visit York before returning home.
