Day 1 – After our door-to-door pick-ups we travel to the small coastal town of Looe to enjoy a couple of hours free time. Separated by the River Looe, the two towns are today joined together by a bridge. East Looe includes a harbour and the main shopping centre, whilst West Looe is quieter but also has shops and restaurants to enjoy. Later, we travel to the hotel to enjoy a sherry reception.
Day 2 –
This morning we visit charming Falmouth, based around a thriving harbour, Falmouth is famous for its maritime legacy and coastal culture which is showcased in the National Maritime Museum. After some free time, we return to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon and a delicious cream tea.
Day 3 –
This afternoon we travel to Newquay where we have arranged a journey on the Lappa Valley Railway bound for Santa’s magical Christmas grotto! Our ticket also includes a delicious mince pie and mulled wine.
Day 4 –
After breakfast we travel to Truro for free time. Dating back over 800 years, the city’s heritage is as a market town and port, today it is Cornwall’s only city and its most striking feature is the grand Cathedral, with its green spire and Gothic appearance. Built at the turn of the century, it continues to dominate the Truro skyline and has some interesting Victorian stained glass windows. This afternoon we visit the old market town of St Austell before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day 5 –
Full of festive cheer we return home, with comfort stops along the way.
