DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to Cheltenham, the most complete Regency town in Britain, before continuing to our 4-star hotel in Gloucester.
Day 2 – Today we visit the five properties of the Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust. Highlights include actors and guides in Elizabethan costume, period furniture and archery and birds of prey demonstrations.
Day 3 – Today we visit Gloucester, the cathedral city of the Cotswolds for free time. Perhaps visit the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, home to “The Glorious Glosters” – the most decorated regiment in the British Army, or the National Waterways Museum before exploring the 11th century Gloucester Cathedral, resting place of King Edward II.
Day 4 – Enjoy a scenic tour around the Cotswolds. Our first stop today is Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Show Village of England’ due to its sheer beauty and magnificence. Next, we visit the delightful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, home to a variety of antique shops and art galleries. Afterwards, we travel to Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ because of its attractive little bridges that cross the gently flowing River Windrush. Here, we have arranged a cream tea for you to enjoy before returning to our hotel.
Day 5 – We travel home with a leisurely stop at Royal Leamington Spa.
