Club Class coach travel
Excursions to Lincoln, Skegness, Woodhall Spa
Guided tour OF THE Battle of Britain Memorial Visitors Centre at RAF Coningsby
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to the beautiful city of Lincoln for free time, before continuing to our hotel on Skegness’ seafront. Lincoln’s cobbled streets are filled with independent boutique shops, popular high-street brands and a wealth of places to eat and drink.
Day 2 – A tour into the Wolds – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We travel via the market towns of Horncastle and Market Rasen to the historic town of Louth, which retains a natural charm with its narrow winding streets and market place.
Day 3 – Enjoy free time in Skegness – one of the Britain’s favourite seaside resorts. Our hotel is just a short walk from Skegness Pier and Natureland Seal Sanctuary.
Day 4 – We visit RAF Coningsby, the RAF’s Southern Typhoon Main Operating Base and home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Flown by regular serving RAF aircrew, the Flight operates six Spitfires, two Hurricane Mk 2Cs and a Lancaster, as well as a C47 Dakota and two Chipmunk aircraft. Here, we will be shown around the hangar and heritage aircraft by volunteer guides, many of whom have first hand experience of the aircraft. We will then travel to Woodhall Spa, where we have a little free time before the journey back to the hotel.
Please note: The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre and the RAF hangar are located within the boundaries of RAF Coningsby where you will enter a military environment. Therefore, ALL bags are prohibited within the RAF BBMF Hangar on public tours. There are no secure storage facilities on site. Cameras without bags are permitted. If you wish to bring purses, wallets, mobile phones or other valuables with you, a small plastic bag can be obtained on arrival at the Visitor Centre to put them in.
