Day 2 – After breakfast we travel to Fort William, where we will join the Jacobite Steam Railway to Mallaig – described as the ‘Greatest Railway Journey in the World!’ This section of the West Highland Line crosses the mighty Glenfinnan Viaduct, which was used in the Harry Potter films. At the end of the line, we’ll arrive in Mallaig where we will enjoy a couple of hours at leisure. This busy fishing port is home to many shops, bars, restaurants and plenty of fish and chips to be enjoyed in its pleasant atmosphere.

Day 3 – You’ll want your cameras today as our experienced driver takes us on a scenic drive around Cairngorms National Park. The UK’s largest National Park is situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and offers spectacular scenery with towering mountains, sparkling lochs and rivers and plenty of wildlife! Later, we’ll enjoy some free time in Aviemore. Located in the north west corner of the Cairngorms National Park this town is surrounded by lush Highland scenery making it the perfect destination to watch the world pass you by.

Day 4 – This morning we visit Balmoral Castle with entry into the grounds, gardens, exhibitions and gift shop all included. Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. After enough free time to explore Balmoral, we enjoy a stop in the picturesque village of Braemar. This town is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and is a haven for walkers (or wanderers).

Day 5 – After a memorable stay we retrace our footsteps home.
