Free time in Margate
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Enjoy a relaxing journey to our hotel in Margate, with comfort breaks en route.
Day 2 – After breakfast we visit Whitstable a town full of charm and culture with a strong maritime history. Why not head to the Harbour, home to Whitstable’s fish market, which is ready to serve up the day’s catch including the famous Whitstable oysters! Later, we return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 – This afternoon we enjoy a trip to Broadstairs, Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday spot! Here you can explore a wealth of Dickens memorabilia and prints at the Dickens House Museum. Why not take a leisurely walk along one of Broadstairs’ seven sand-filled beaches?
Day 4 – We travel to Canterbury for free time. Here you can pay your respects to the Canterbury war memorial before visiting the magnificent Cathedral, seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the centre point of any visit to Canterbury. The Cathedral dates-back to 597AD and has been the destination of pilgrims from across the world since the murder of Thomas Becket in 1170.
Day 5 – We retrace our footsteps home.
