DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – This afternoon, we enjoy a couple of hours in the historic market town of Beverley en route to our hotel in Scarborough.
Day 2 – We begin by travelling to Bridlington, a resort known for its sandy beaches, award‐winning promenades and historic harbour. Behind the long flat seafront, you will find a thriving town centre to explore. Afterwards, we take you to nearby Filey, a traditional seaside resort offers a gentle atmosphere with luscious parks and gardens to explore. On our way back to the hotel we’ll take you to South Cliff Italian Gardens in Scarborough, which have been featured in the ITV drama series The Royal.
Day 3 – Enjoy Scarborough at your own pace today. Our hotel is a 20-minute stroll to the lively town centre and the sandy South Bay Beach. A steep walk over the headland will reward you with spectacular views of the surrounding coast, the old town area and the North Bay Beach. You will have your choice of charming cafes, seafood restaurants and traditional seaside pubs to help make a day to remember.
Day 4 – This morning we visit the National Trust’s Nunnington Hall, a beautiful Elizabethan manor house beside the peaceful River Rye. Before returning to our hotel, we will also visit Peasholm Park Gardens, an oriental themed park that offers a beautiful system of streams and waterfalls, mini bridges and mystical gardens. The park is also home to the world-famous Naval Warfare – a unique miniature sea battle that has been shown on television screens across the globe!
Day 5 – After breakfast we travel to York, historical capital of the north, with a wealth of Viking and Roman history. Stroll along the banks of the River Ouse – perhaps treat yourself to a river cruise, enjoy the many fascinating museums, York Dungeons, The Jorvik Centre and the magnificent York Minster. Don’t miss York Chocolate Story, which tells the tale of local chocolatier Rowntree, inventor of the Kit Kat & Chocolate Orange.
