DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to our hotel via a leisurely stop in St Albans.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Sissinghurst Castle, which is among the most famous gardens in England. Admire world-renowned gardens set in a 460-acre estate of scenic countryside at Sissinghurst Castle Garden. The poet and writer Vita Sackville-West and her diplomat husband Harold Nicholson fell in love with Sissinghurst Castle and began transforming it in the 1930s. They created the unusual gardens, which are designed as a series of themed "rooms." Explore the diversity of the gardens and venture through the open areas of the castle. We return to the hotel for the afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 – After a leisurely morning we visit Chapel Down Winery, located in the beautiful Kent countryside. Here, we have arranged a guided tour of the vineyard followed by a tutored tasting of the award-winning sparkling and still wines.
Day 4 – Our excursion today takes us first to Rochester, famous for its’ association with Charles Dickens. Later, we visit Leeds Castle, described as the ‘Loveliest Castle in the World’. Leeds Castle has been the property of six of England’s Medieval queens and the palace was used by Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. With free flying falconry displays and year-round attractions, Leeds Castle is not to be missed.
Day 5 – We retrace our footsteps back home.
