DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Enjoy a relaxing journey as we travel to Ickworth House, a National Trust country estate that brings a taste of classic Italy to Suffolk. Built for the Earl of Bristol in 1795, Ickworth is an astonishing Italianate structure topped by an impressive rotunda. Inside, you can discover its many treasures including; Georgian silver, Regency furniture and family portraits by famous artists such as Gainsborough and Hogarth. After some free time, we continue to our hotel in Colchester.
Day 2 – Today we will enjoy a tour around the quaint villages of Long Melford, Cavendish, Clare, Bury St Edmunds and Lavenham.
Day 3 – This morning at leisure it before we visit Colchester in the afternoon.
Day 4 – After breakfast we will be met by a knowledgeable guide who will take us on a tour of Constable Country on-board our comfortable coach. This full day guided tour will take us to East Bergholt, the picturesque birthplace of John Constable. Here you can still see his studio and the place where his house once stood. Dedham is frequently rated as containing some of England’s most beautiful landscapes. Flatford Mill, once owned by John Constable’s father, the Mill was immortalised by John Constable in his painting of ‘The Haywain’ and is still recognisable today.
Day 5 – After an enjoyable stay we return home with comfort breaks along the way.
