DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to Newark-on-Trent, where we will enjoy a couple of hours at leisure. This bustling town boasts one of the finest Georgian market squares in Britain, along with its dramatic castle and two museums. After free time, we continue to our hotel where tea and mince pies will be served on arrival, with a chance to meet our hosts. Evening dinner will be followed by a fun and entertaining quiz.
Day 2 – After a leisurely breakfast enjoy some free time to explore the beautiful city of Lincoln. Offering a wealth of history, the city is crowned by Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle – commissioned by William the Conqueror – they are some of Europe’s finest examples of Norman architecture. Later, we have included a visit to the pantomime (Oh, yes, we have!) to really get you into the festive spirit. Dinner back at the hotel will be followed by sing-a-long entertainment. This evening, guests wishing to attend midnight mass will be met at reception and escorted there, with warming hot drinks awaiting upon our return.
Day 3 – Celebrate Christmas Day in the warmth and comfort of our hotel surrounded by friends, old and new! After a delicious buffet breakfast perhaps enjoy a stroll along the waterfront which is adjacent to our hotel, before morning coffee and biscuits. Later, we will gather for a buck’s fizz or sparkling wine reception in the lounge before a traditional lunch with all the trimmings is served. Afternoon tea will be served during the Queen’s speech and another fun quiz this evening will follow a light festive buffet of hot and cold dishes.
Day 4 – A leisurely start for an excursion today with a scenic tour exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We then stop in Louth, a historic Georgian market town of narrow, winding streets, which is and considered a gastro delight for ‘foodies’ and hailed by TV Chef’s The Hairy Bikers as a “food mecca”. We return for tea and festive treats this afternoon whilst later we enjoy a farewell dinner dance with live entertainment.
Day 5 – After breakfast we’ll begin our leisurely journey home, enjoying comfort stops on the way.
