Day 1
After this morning's pickups, we make our way to our hotel in Eastbourne.
DDay 2
Today, we visit the bustling seaside city of Brighton. Home to the iconic Royal Pavilion, famous piers, and the i360 observation tower, which gives spectacular views over everything below, Brighton has been a magnet for visitors searching for fun, frolics, and fresh sea air for hundreds of years, including party boy King George IV. This afternoon, we continue to medieval Lewes; nestled amongst the South Downs, you'll find 'olde English' churches, a maze of tiny twittens (a local word for alleyway), and the remains of a Norman castle.
B, DDay 3
Overlooking the famous flower-decked promenade, beautiful Victorian pier and the beach, starting at Eastbourne's Grand Parade is the perfect way to get the most out of your day. The Eastbourne Lifeboat Museum, the Winter Gardens and the town's beach are just a short leisurely walk from here. For something different, the Miniature Steam Railway and carpet gardens are a fun sight to see.
B, DDay 4
We start our day with a scenic drive through the countryside towards stunning Pashley Manor Gardens; considered one of England's finest gardens, you'll find fresh, fragrant summer florals and romantic landscaping in a quintessential English country garden. Enjoy sweeping herbaceous borders, box hedges, an espaliered rose walk, a historic walled garden, an inspiring kitchen garden and venerable trees with the Grade One listed manor house as a perfect backdrop. This afternoon, we travel to picturesque Tenterden, a historic town known as the 'Jewel of the Weald'. After a little free time here, it's 'all aboard' the nostalgic Kent & East Sussex Railway. Steaming through the Wealden countryside, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty found in the beautiful Rother Valley, it was the first light passenger railway built in Britain and is today one of the country's most loved heritage lines.
B, DDay 5
After departing our hotel, we visit a local vineyard for a tour and tasting. We sample their award-winning fine wines and take in the picturesque views of the High Weald Area of Natural Beauty. If you like what you've tried, why not treat yourself to a bottle in the gift shop to take home? We then continue our journey home.
