Day 1
After departures, we head south for the Channel crossing to France. After continuing our journey, we soon arrive in Paris, where we join our river cruise and experience a special welcome dinner as we set sail.
DDay 2
Enjoy a leisurely morning of tranquil cruising along the Seine to Rouen, the capital of Normandy. On our arrival mid-afternoon, we will be transported back through time as we include a walking tour of this lovely port city as you follow in the footsteps of France's national hero, Joan of Arc and impressionist painter Claude Monet
B, L, DDay 3
Spend the day as you wish with free time to explore more of Rouen; named 'the city of the one-hundred church spires' by The Hunchback of Notre-Dame author Victor Hugo, enjoy exploring Rouen Cathedral, once the tallest building in the world, and a world-class fine arts museum. The Old Market Square is home to Rouen's most notorious moment in history, as Joan of Arc was burned at the stake here in 1431 and is now home to a church named in her honour.
B, L, DDay 4
Our ship arrives in the small town of Caudebec-en-Caux at lunchtime today; flower-filled gardens await you to visit, whilst historic buildings, such as the church of Notre Dame or the Templar House, reflect the town's storied past. Alternatively, join an optional excursion along the Côte Fleurie (or flowery coast) to Honfleur, one of Normandy's most charming towns. After strolling through the cosy alleyways and along the harbour, you'll visit a small Calvados apple brandy shop and have a chance to enjoy a delicious tasting. We continue to Deauville, another picturesque Normandy village on the coast near the English Channel. During a short tour, marvel at the magnificent buildings directly overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
B, L, DDay 5
A breakfast time arrival in tranquil Les Andelys, best known for the Château Gaillard built by Richard the Lionheart in the 12th century; although nothing more than a vast ruin nowadays, it's easy to imagine the castle's role in the Hundred Years' War, which resulted in an eight-month siege and a French victory. At midday, we set sail again for Vernon, where we include the highlight of any visit to Normandy - a tour of Monet's garden. Found in Giverny, the garden is like a painting that has come to life. It can be found at the famed artist's home for over 40 years and is now a museum in his honour. It's here that he painted his famous water lilies, one of the world's most valuable paintings, which you'll be able to admire up close - what a view! After our visit, we enjoy plenty of time exploring and letting the spirit of Giverny sink in.
B, L, DDayy 6
Our ship sets sail early this morning for a full day of cruising along the Seine. We arrive in Paris early this evening.
B, L, DDay 7
Today, Paris is all yours. Enjoy this spectacular metropolis known as the city of love, the grand finale of the river cruise, and now welcoming you in all its splendour. We include a tour of the city by coach, during which you will enjoy views of the must-see sights and attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and many more. After returning with a wealth of new memories, you can enjoy the last evening of your cruise with a special farewell dinner.
B, L, DDay 8
Your unforgettable river cruise comes to an end after breakfast this morning. Afterwards, it's time to say 'au revoir' to our crew and Paris as we board our coach for the return journey back to the UK.
