This isnt a matchmaking service - its a celebration of independent travel and shared experiences. Youll have sole use of your own room (in most cases, a double room) and be greeted with a welcome drink on the first night, the perfect chance to meet like-minded fellow travellers. From swapping stories to forming friendships that go beyond the journey, our Solo Holidays let you explore your way, while enjoying the warmth of great company (trips are limited to thirty participants to ensure a relaxed and personalised experience).
Day 1
After this morning's departures, we start our journey south, arriving at our hotel this afternoon.
DDay 2
Today, we explore the West Sussex coast with a visit to the popular seaside town of Bognor Regis, a fishing settlement since Anglo-Saxon times; as one of the UK's sunniest towns, it notably became a fashionable resort in the reign of George III and has been frequented by royalty on numerous occasions. This afternoon, we continue with a short stop in Goring-By-Sea to visit the extraordinary English Martyrs' Church, featuring the world's only full-scale replica of Michelangelo's ceiling from the Sistine Chapel in Rome. We next enjoy free time in neighbouring Worthing, a Georgian coastal resort and home to a long promenade, a traditional pier and miles of award-winning beaches, parks and gardens.
B, DDay 3
This morning, we visit Alfriston; surrounded by the Wealden South Downs and officially one of England's most beautiful villages, it offers a wide range of galleries, cafés, pubs and shops to explore. After our excursion, we return to Brighton this afternoon for free time. Why not browse 'The Lanes', Brighton's famous twisting alleyways full of jewellers, antiques and designer boutiques, or enjoy a stroll along Brighton Pier? Here, you can embrace the memories of yesteryear with beloved beach-side arcades, a funfair and delicious fish 'n' chips whilst overlooking the seafront!
B, DDay 4
Today's full-day excursion takes us to Arundel, which boasts thousands of years of history. Nestled around a fairytale castle, enjoy exploring pretty streets full of cosy tearooms, art galleries, and quirky antique shops. We continue for a lunchtime visit to the historic walled market town of Chichester, which began life as a Roman settlement, with historic remains still evident today. With hidden gardens, secret waterways and a range of cafés to enjoy, visits to the stunning cathedral, Georgian quarter and historic harbour come highly recommended. We end our day with a scenic drive through the scenic splendour of the South Downs, England's newest National Park, and step back in time with a visit to the Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, where traditional rural crafts are demonstrated daily as you discover the South Coast's working past.
B, DDay 5
This morning, we begin our homeward journey.
