All Aboard!! Steaming into Whitby in a Heartbeat

New for 2026 - All aboard for a nostalgic journey to the seaside on the lovingly restored North Yorkshire Moors Railway!!

 

We travel first to Goathland of TV's 'Heartbeat' fame - look out for Aidensfield Post Office, Bernie Scripps Funeral Services, Aidensfield Garage and the Goatland Hotel, familiar to fans as the 'Aidensfield Arms', before joining the train at the must-see celebrity railway station regularly featured in the popular ITV series and also recongnisable as Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film. Stepping back in time we journey through the Yorkshire Moors for a unique glimpse into the captivating Yorkshire countryside and providing a nostalgic experience of steam trains reminiscent of the era depicted in “Heartbeat”.

 

The end of the line is in Whitby, one of the North East coast’s best-loved seaside towns. Here there will be free time to explore its narrow streets and bustling harbour overlooked by the striking ruins of Whitby Abbey, perhaps treating yourself to some of the town's world-renowned fish & chips, before boarding the coach for the homeward journey.

 

This Day Out is a delightful opportunity for fans of the iconic British television series, railway enthusiasts, as well as for anyone who appreciates stunning landscapes and rich local history.
